The ”International journal of Pukhtunkhwa” is the journal of Bacha Khan Chair, Abdul Wali KLhan University, Mardan, the primary aim of which is to promote academic worth of the Pakhtunkhwa. The main focus is upon the promotion of Pashtu language and literature, history and culture, Pashtu folklore, education in Pakhtunkhwa, Pashtunwali and social entity of Pashtuns, economy and resources of Pakhtunkhwa and educational uplift of the region. Preserving the historical, social and cultural heritage of the Pakhtunkhwa is the mission undertaken through academic research. The promotion of research culture with a focus upon the inter disciplinary paradigm is the way forward to disseminate the vision, image and face of the peaceful nation.

The journal was initiated after the directives of the BOG Bacha Khan chair, held in October 2016. The members board of governor Bacha Khan Chair intends to promote an environment of research regarding the Pashtu literature, culture and linguistics.
