Abstract

The Takht-I-Bhai area of Mardan has a special status of Buddhist monastery which is a beautiful example of Gandhara civilization. Every year, countless number of people from different parts of the country comes here to visit these historical places and observe the ancient relics of Gandhara civilization. Historians agree that thousands of years ago, Takht-I-Bhai was the cradle of Buddhism. Even now, the traces of that era can be clearly seen here. In this article we have tried to discuss about the historical significance of the Buddhist ruins of Takht-I-Bhai, Mardan.
